Industries using Strip Cladding

Royal Arc’s strip cladding welding process in India specialises in producing strip cladding heads and supplying fully automated systems serving diverse industries.

Strip cladding finds uses in sectors such as

  • Railways
  • Offshore and Shipbuilding
  • Civil Engineering
  • Machinery
  • Chemical and petroleum industries

This process involves overlaying materials like stainless steel onto surfaces such as carbon steel, low alloy steel, and various hard-facing components, including valves, rollers, and wear plates.

The strip cladding welding process is crucial in various industries such as nuclear, oil and gas, petrochemicals, and steel production. It provides corrosion resistance in high-pressure critical process plant equipment or enhances wear resistance, like in continuous casting rollers in steel mills. This process involves Electroslag strip cladding, which protects against corrosion and wear, using materials like CME substrates or low alloy steels for added strength and physical qualities. This method offers significant cost savings and flexibility, allowing for different techniques such as roll-bonded or explosively bonded clad plates and weld cladding on CME or low alloy steel base materials.
In this process, an electric arc forms between the strip and the workpiece. Molten slag protects the weld pool and, with the help of flux, helps form a smooth weld bead surface.

Submerged arc strip cladding has evolved into electro-slag strip cladding, a reliable method with a high deposition rate. The resistance welding process of ESW strip cladding relies on the ohmic resistance heating of a molten electrically conductive slag.

We specialise in designing Ni-based stainless and alloy strips using Conventional and hybrid ESC processes and their corresponding fluxes.

Our expertise extends to various methods, including-

  • Submerged cladding arc strips using a two-layer approach
  • Single-layer and double-layer electro slag strip cladding at normal/high speeds
  • High-speed hybrid electro slag cladding using a single layer approach

As leaders in engineering products and solutions, we offer comprehensive turnkey solutions to industries. With over three decades of experience as strip cladding suppliers, we focus on providing reliable process equipment solutions for the utility sector, utilising cutting-edge technology.

Our commitment to producing cost-effective, technically superior, and durable heavy engineering solutions has earned us a reputation as one of the most respected organisations in this field.
